Rashi Lunia: On extreme values of L-functions

In this talk, we will report on a joint work with Sanoli Gun, where we study the extreme values of Dirichlet-type $L$-functions. For a fixed Dirichlet character $F$ of odd conductor $q$, not necessarily a primitive form, we give a lower bound on the number of fundamental discriminants upto $X$ for which the $L$-function attached to the quadratic twist of $F$ takes large values at the central critical point.
